The Trio in the studio with master engineer and session co-producer Aaron Youngberg. Our experience at Swingfingers has been stellar, and we’re looking for a March release of our album, The Hard Road Trio.
We greet you on this Martin Luther King Day as we look forward to a productive year full of music and good friends. Coming soon is the first ever Zoukology, a gathering in Albuquerque featuring all things bouzouki (just don’t tell the folks at TSA it’s what’s in that case you’re carrying through airport security.) Steve and Anne will be teaching, and more info can be found in the calendar.
Steve and Tim hit the road in February starting with a house concert at Chris and Mark Sanders’ home in Las Cruces on Feb. 14th. Please call Chris at 575-571-5298 to reserve a place for yourself and your Valentine. (We can arrange to provide a Valentine if needed!) You’ll also be able to catch this fine duo and their recent CD release of Carter Family tunes at the Covenant Church in Albuquerque Feb. 15th, in Durango on the 16th, and at a house concert in Santa Fe on Sunday, the 17th. They’ll continue with shows Little Rock (2/21), Dallas (2/22), and Wichita Falls (2/23).
Yes, it’s been a couple of months since you’ve heard from the Trio. We’ve been making great progress on our new CD The Hard Road Trio and have loved working with Aaron Youngberg at Swingfingers Studio in Fort Collins, CO. You can expect the tunes you’ve requested that were previously unrecorded, and some great tracks from Nate Lee, Aaron Youngberg, Tim May and Nick Coventry. Plans are in the making for our release concert in Las Cruces and beyond, so please stay tuned.
Folks are already making their arrangements for lodging at the Black Range Lodge for our October DNA Music Camp, and it looks like a great time to do this. See the calendar below for our line-up of camps this year: Songwriter Camp, May 2-5, Acoustic Camp, October 10-13, and new this year: the Southwest Mandolin Camp, November 1-3.
We’re excited to stay in touch with a new and improved format for our newsletter, and can’t wait to see you down the road!
Chris, Steve and Anne
