We hope you’ve been enjoying a wonderful summer! The Trio had a blast traveling north to Colorado, South Dakota and Montana, along with doing shows in our home area. Thanks to all who hosted us and came out to shows. We just returned from recording the major part of a new project at Aaron Youngberg’s Swingfingers Studio in Fort Collins. Excitement is high, and we’re really grateful for Aaron’s expert artistry. Stay tuned for further developments!
You can catch the Trio in Santa Fe on Sept. 14 and at the Red River Bluegrass Festival on Sept. 15 (thank you, Southwest Pickers). Red River will be beautiful this time of year and there’s a fun lineup this year (see the website below for more info including our set times and locations). We’ll return to Alan and Tammi’s for the 9/14 house concert, also in a beautiful place. Because the location is outside of Santa Fe along a country road, special care needs to be taken to avoid the neighbor’s property when parking. There are further instructions on the calendar, and a map and particulars will be provided when making reservations at the email address provided below. Also, seating is limited, so let us know you’re coming soon!
Anne and Chris will wrap up the Sunday show at Pickamnia! Sept. 16th at the Black Range Lodge in Kingston, NM, with a duo set of original and almost original tunes. This festival runs Sept. 14th – 16th – featured artists include Peter McLaughlin and Chris Brashear along with area women in music.
Tim May and Steve are heading west Sept. 20-30 for a duo tour that takes them to Portland, Bend (including an improvisation workshop), and Sisters in Oregon, Seattle, Tacoma, McCall (Idaho), Boise and Salt Lake City. We will be updating details for these shows as they come closer; further info can be found on the calendar below and at www.desertnight.com. Be sure and check out their new recording of Carter Family tunes which they’ll have available at shows – it’s the real deal!
October brings Desert Night Acoustic Music Camp, and we’re pretty much at capacity for campers. Contact Chris at 575-571-5298 if you’d like a place on our waiting list in case of last minute cancellations. Thanks to all who’ve signed up, and we’ll see you Oct. 4th at 5pm for happy hour.
On our way to Logandale Bluegrass Festival in Nevada Oct. 19th-20th, we’ll be stopping in Tucson for a workshop and house concert on Oct. 17th. Thanks to the Desert Bluegrass Association for all your support in putting this together. See the calendar below for more info. Also, look for more details about our show in Boulder City, NV on Sunday, the 21st.
Your support means the world to us, and we look forward to catching up with you at camp and down the road.
Chris, Steve and Anne
