Hi Friends,

All of us in The Hard Road Trio send out a huge thank you to all who made this July one of our best! Thanks to hosts, venues, friends and fans from Amarillo to Arkansas to Ann Arbor for showing up in a big way. A special shout out to Steve Haberichter and crew at the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival, and Paula Carr and Alan Munde at Camp Bluegrass – the good you do for your communities can’t be overstated.  An excellent tour was rounded out by shows in Las Cruces and El Paso where home town folks came out to support public broadcasting and acoustic music. Kudos to Star City Studios and big thanks to Eric Boseman for lending some amazing percussion to the mix. Great job, Folks!

August 11, 12 and 13: check the calendar below for appearances by the Trio and special guest, fiddler Nick Coventry (www.nickcoventry.com) at the Buckhorn Opera House in Piños Altos, Alamogordo Tailgate Concerts and Sacred Grounds Coffee and Tea in Ruidoso. If you’ve heard Nick play gypsy jazz with the Black Market Trust or bluegrass with Peter McLaughlin, you’ll know why we’re so excited to have him with us for these dates.

Friday, August 18th Steve returns to Santa Fe for a solo house concert – thanks to Bob Fischer for being such a great friend! Aug. 22-26, the Tim May/Steve Smith Duo will be taking Wyoming and Montana by storm with appearances in Big Horn, Bozeman, Helena and Billings including a live broadcast on Yellowstone Public Radio. Look for them in Winfield as they return to the Walnut Valley Festival in September. Please see complete information on the calendar below.

Closer to our NM home, the folks at the Black Range Lodge and the community of Kingston will bring Pickamania back to its roots Sept. 22-24, this time with an apple picking component. The headliners at the festival will be Chris Brashear and Peter McLaughlin, and you can also catch the Chris Sanders/Anne Luna/KC Groves/Ezra Bussmann Band!

Desert Night Acoustic Music Camp at the Black Range Lodge, October 6-8, is steadily filling up. Those of you who have registered, you can expect your email invoices soon. Those of you who have registered with Chris and have not called Catherine to reserve your rooms, now is a great time to do it! Please see complete info on camp and registration at:

Finally, our video “Smoke and Redemption” created and directed by Orlando Martos won Best Music Video at the Tioga Film Festival – the festival drew 600 entries overall. Congrats, Orlando!

Thanks for making, supporting and most of all, enjoying LIVE MUSIC!
