Dear Friends,

What a fantastic summer so far! We had our usual great time at Camp Bluegrass (thank you Paula Carr and Alan Munde), and returned home with Nate Lee, Bill Evans and Tim May in tow to play our annual benefit for KRWG Public TV and Radio. Thanks to a record crowd for coming out to support public broadcasting and our acoustic super group.

August finds Steve at Colorado Roots Camp starting Aug. 7th in Divide, CO. He’ll continue north playing shows primarily with duo partner Tim May but also one with guitar player Randy McSpadden. Look for a mando workshop Aug. 20th at the Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor in Arvada followed by a duo show with Tim on Aug. 23rd. Check out the calendar below for their shows in Big Horn, WY, and Billings and Bozeman, MT between Aug. 24-27.

To our friends in the SF Bay Area: The Trio will be joining a host of talent for a concert at Berkeley’s Freight and Salvage on Sept. 2nd to benefit our dear friend Bill Evans and his family due to his wife Kathy’s ongoing recovery from leukemia. For tickets and an impressive list of performers, please go to this link. (For our friends around the country, you may make a donation at this site, as well):

A quick look at September shows an appearance by The Trio at the Labor Day Wine Fest at the Southern New Mexico Fairgrounds in Las Cruces on Monday Sept. 5th and workshops and a solo show with Steve in Santa Fe Sept. 10-11. We’re gearing up for our third annual Desert NIght Acoustic Music Camp at the Black Range Lodge in Kingston Oct. 7th-9th. Here’s a link:

Steve and Tim’s latest project Murder of Crows is now available at The Trio’s website. These guys have done it again; the playing is dazzling and the tunes will reach right out and grab you. Another beautiful recording from the guys:

Thanks for supporting live music and keeping music alive in our world!

Ask us about Ellis Mandolins, GHS strings, Red-Eye preamps, Shubb capos and K and K pickups. We use them and we love em’.
